A morning of cricket with Gautam Gambhir

The Special Child Trust and Action for Autism hosted a 'morning of cricket' at Action for Autism, in Jasola Vihar, New Delhi on Monday, 7th September 2009.

Renowned Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir kindly agreed to grace the occasion.

During the event, he inaugurated a 32 seat CNG school bus donated by The Special Child Trust to Action for Autism. He also met with the trustees of TSCT and the governing body members of AFA to discuss different ways of increasing awareness on autism in India. In addition, he played cricket with the schoolchildren, parents and staff members of AFA to give a strong message of inclusion.

His presence at the event and solidarity towards this cause will help to shine a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis.

Through this event, TSCT and AFA celebrated the unique talents and skills of persons with autism, created awareness and knowledge of the autism epidemic, and encouraged the widespread embrace of the autism community.
